MY SOFA COMMENT:-
Did you ever really want to fly in the first place???
Or did society make you think that you wanted or needed to fly?
The point I am making is you could go by train or walk or go by ship.
What people want to achieve is TRAVEL to their DESTINATION.
If people could go by "Star Trek Beam Me Up" then they would!....
Whether they wanted to or not!....

I can't decide if your sanctimoniousness is more tedious than your earnestness!
Tell us, oh enlightened one, what do YOU think about it?
Did you ever think maybe people wanted to visit places, of their own volition, not caused by some conspiracy, and flying is a good way to get there?
Perhaps you could let me know how I could find a job 12,000 miles away and emigrate without having flown?

Well, that's your daft opinion and that's ALL it is.
One suspects that all that time on your sofa has resulted in reduced blood supply to your cognitive brain.

I don't deny that FLYING is a great and very convenient way of travel.
I am pointing out that it is a COMMERCIAL PROFIT-HUNGRY INDUSTRY as well - which plants adverts posing as news-stories in once respectable newspapers like the "Gaydian".
Don't forget Australia was for MOST of its history reachable only by BOAT.
That did not deter anyone!
It was discovered by Captain Cook in 1770!..... He did not discover it as the pilot of a Quantas!..
A great deal of SEA TRAVEL occurred.
That's why - even today - we still talk of all "being in the same boat" rather than all "being in the same JUMBO JET"!
I can see that BOTH Ozzies above feel guilt about going by plane.
Due to the heavy condemnation of folk like me regarding flying and their own conscience about the fenomenon of course!
Well - do you NEED to fly this particular journey??
Also - do you need to take out your guilt on me???....
None of them WANTED as such to go by ship.
Some of the crews were PRESS-GANGED - ID EST FORCED!.....
But it was necessary to make the JOURNEY!....
And considerably healthier for the planet as NO FUEL WAS NEEDED!...
I would seriously suggest the revival of some form of sea travel for mass transport to some places in the world.
